Birthdays...

I must admit I love birthdays. But honestly it's much more than mine. I've always been so grateful that every person on this planet has a day of their own to be recognized. I look forward to family birthdays and especially my own children (well, right now, child). Anyway, today has been a wonderful day and I have to thank so many of you for nice notes, texts, phone calls, gifts etc. THANK YOU! So blessed :) Funny thing though. I had to get a new SIM card for my phone and lost almost everyone's numbers. So I did get a few texts from people and I don't recognize the numbers because I could just look for your name in my phone :) So if you texted me today, leave a comment so I know who those lovely people were. I'm guessing it was my family, and I think I recognized a few numbers...duh...look what cells phones do to us! Few pics below from today. I CAN'T believe how big Peyt looks in that picture. He's my big boy!

McKay and I also had a fun date Saturday night at Tucanos followed by The Dark Knight...it was a dark movie just like everyone told me...oh well. Thanks babe for all you did for my bday and all you do for me everyday! When we bought our house there were three cabinets in our kitchen that bugged me...REALLY bugged me. McKay let us redo all of the cabinets and I'm really happy with how they turned out. LOVE YOU!

Fun Find and Peyton...

I saw this at IKEA a week or so ago with Lisa and thought it was cute...she had thought it was about $40 so I decided to think about it. We went back there today and guess what...$15! I was so excited. Peyton absolutely loves cars so I know he'll love driving them around on it. Now I just need a playroom in the basement to put it in :)

You can just call Peyt Mr. destruction. It does not take long for him to pull things out and make a mess. I can't do the dishes with him awake because he takes the silverware out as soon as I put it in. Good thing I love him so much :) I wanted to write down a few things he's saying right now...

Mom (I love it when he says mama)
Dad
Papa
Car
Goggie (Dog)
Cookie
Cheese (one of his favorite foods)
Treat
Duck
Ball
Gabage (dirty diapers :)

This is SUCH a fun age because he's starting to repeat a lot of what he hears. The words above he's just mastered so you can understand them every time :) So awesome to be a Mom to him.

Also just thought I'd post this picture of my girlfriends at Beth's shower. I LOVE these girls. It's fun as we get older and make our own little families how we can look back at so many memories we've had and just laugh. I have funny/crazy/wonderful memories with each one of these girls and I'm so glad we keep in touch!

Happy Birthday Chels

My beautiful sister turned 21 today. I'm so grateful to have a sister. It's an incredible relationship that you will always have...no matter what life brings or where it takes you. As I get older I appreciate all relationships so much more, but definitely this one with this little lady. She is an amazing person and I don't know of anyone who doesn't like her. She's so great with Peyton and sorry to all the other relatives out there, but her name is one of the only ones he's saying so far (Sheshee!) She's also a fabulous hair stylist and usually comes to my house and does it when Peyton is in bed (I know I'm spoiled!) By the way, she works at Mark Anthony's salon in Springville if you need someone to go to :) Anyway...love you so much Chels! And thanks to my parents for a great dinner at PF Changs and my Mom's famous chocolate mousse cake!

Welcome Baby Khloe

Little baby Khloe was born last night (August 27th) to Davy and Lisa. Lisa's been through it with this pregnancy and I'm so happy for her that she's here. It's really a miracle because she was born at 32 weeks, is 4 pounds 14 oz. and 18 inches long. She doesn't need oxygen and just needs to learn to eat and keep her body temp regulated!

Isn't Lisa beautiful! She's so cute and thrilled to have this sweetie here. I will have to live vicariously through her being a mother to a girl until I hopefully have my own! I will be happy with a boy next but by a third, I will really be praying for pink :)

Congrats McArthurs! Lis...we're getting closer to not being outnumbered anymore!

Happy BDAY Steph

Yesterday was Steph's bday. LOVE HER so much. We have so much fun together and I love it when I can get her to laugh hard because it makes me laugh hard too! She has such a beautiful family (has THREE kids and is a year younger than me!) and is a wonderful mother. She moved up by me last year and it's the best because I get to see her almost every morning now...we're gym buddies! She has wonderful taste in everything and is so fun to go shopping with (my girlfriends definitely know how to shop!) I hope you had a great day yesterday Steph!

Farm Country

My Mom treated Peyton and I to an afternoon at Farm Country at Thanksgiving Pointe and to lunch! We had so much fun! This was the first time going for Peyton and I think he enjoyed it (especially the fact that we let him push his own stroller most of the way :)

Grandma, Peyt and the horse's behind

Peyt riding the pony

Wagon ride...not the best picture day for Peyt

We sent him to jail! He sure knows how to get out fast though!

First ride on a real tractor (just long enough to get the picture!)

Just FYI to you all who don't know, for one more week Thanksgiving Pointe has all their activities for $2 on tuesdays. I would encourage you to go right at 10 a.m. though to avoid long lines! Good deal!

California

We had a great trip to California this past week. We didn't think McKay was going to make it and he ended up flying out on Sunday to be with us the last part of the trip. It was a bittersweet trip as we were there to say goodbye to my Grandpa Neiger. This was the first death of a family member I've dealt with as an adult so it was pretty tough. It was really good to see my Grandma, Uncle Steve and other family members though.

Hanging out at Grandma's house

My uncle has a black lab named Kody. Peyton had so much fun with her after the initial meeting when she scared him half to death. He loved feeding her liver sausage...and chasing her around the house.

This is my amazing Grandma. She is always such a wonderful host. She makes great meals, cleans up after everyone (and won't let us do it :) and lets us take over her TV to watch what we want :) We love her so much! Thank you for everything you did and do for us! It was so great to introduce Peyton to her for the first time.

This is my Dad's brother Steve. He's such a great guy and is always so fun to hang out with. This was also his first time meeting Peyton. I think he won both he and my Grandma over. We're excited to visit many times in the future. We also celebrated Steve's birthday while we were there. Hope you had a great day Steve and that this will be a wonderful year for you...and that your birthday wish comes true :)

This is a tradition when we go to Grandpa and Grandma's...sitting out on the driveway in the evenings playing the washers game. I really stink at it, but it's just nice being outside watching other people play :)

The boys went to the Yankees/Angels game. Yankees got swept in Anaheim while we were there :( Sad for Dad and Jack, good for Steve!

The girls got to go to Hollywood and see Wicked. It was my second time and it was just as good as I remembered it. I love broadway shows. Thanks Mom and Dad for the fun day!

Chelsea has had her picture taken with this weirdo every time she goes to Hollywood. They have all these people dressed up asking you to take your picture with them for tips. Crazy people there I tell you!

We also made a trip to Huntington Beach...loved it! Peyt took a long time to warm up. He was clenched to us for most of the time whenever we got near the water!

Loved this pic!

Mom and Peyt enjoying the sun

Isn't my sister so cute!

I've been waiting 16 months to take this picture...four generations of Neigers!

My Grandpa's service. He was buried in a military cemetery (served in the Army). It was neat to have the color guard tribute as part of the service. Very emotional though.

My Dad led the service and did a wonderful job. He had the three kids talk for a few minutes about my Grandpa...so hard! I hope those who were there could understand me under all the crying! Death is a very hard thing and I'm just grateful that I know I'll see my Grandpa again. We love him so much.

Final picture...I promise. This was to appease Peyton on the drive home. Good thing daddy's DP was pretty watered down. He knows what soda is now and ALWAYS wants a sip!

Another great family vacation.

Catch Up

Before I post about our California trip, I thought I'd do a quick catch up on some things that happened while I was gone...

Good Job Joshua! LOVED this season of So You Think You Can Dance and I'm really sad it's over. The top 10 are all so awesome and I'm really excited to see them all perform live!

I think my favorite sporting event to watch is the Olympics...they are SO awesome. I've been glued every night to the TV since they started last weekend...it makes me so proud to be an American!

I think this relay was the funnest thing to watch so far. SO awesome that we beat the trash talking French...couldn't be better :) Go Phelps! I really hope he breaks that record!

Gotta love Shawn Johnson...she's such a cute girl! I hope she wins tonight...we'll see what happens!

And...I missed my wonderful friend Sarah's birthday on Sunday. I hope she had an awesome day. She lives in Vegas so I've been down to visit a few times with hopefully one more shopping trip before she comes home :) Growing up Sarah and I often were asked if we were sisters. I don't know if it was just the red hair...what do you think? I'll take being her sister any day :) Love you Sarah! Can't wait to hang out when you come in September!

Girl's Weekend

What constitutes a great girls weekend:

1. St. George (although it was BLASTED hot!)
2. Good food (found a great drink place there called the Orange Peel)
3. Mama Mia (thought it was cute!)
4. Staying up late talking/laughing/remembering our high school days
5. The pool...I don't get to enjoy the pool so much anymore so that was a treat
6. SHOPPING! Went to a cute store called Urban Renewal...had some great house stuff. Also stopped at the outlets and TJ Maxx and More...AWESOME!
7. Tuachan...The Sound of Music was great. I loved it.
8. Pedicures at an awesome spa called The Getaway...so nice there I highly recommend it.
8. Nielsen's Frozen Custard!

What more can I say? What a fabulous weekend. Thanks to my great girlfriends...love you all and we missed those of you who couldn't make it! A big thanks to Brit also for letting us stay at her parent's place!

Apology...

So a few weeks ago I said So You Think You Can Dance was coming to Utah and asked if anyone wanted to come with me...I know a few of you said they wanted to...and I spaced it! I was out of town this weekend (pictures to come :) and forgot to post on my blog that I wasn't going to be home to buy tickets. If anyone didn't already know, they went on sale YESTERDAY! I haven't checked to see if there are any still available. Needless to say, if you were waiting for me to tell you about it, I really do apologize. Hopefully everyone got their tickets already and is planning to go! I hope no one is mad at me :)

Had a great weekend with great girlfriends in St. George. I want to gather all the pics before I post about it...
