Lately...

Before the Halloween post I figured I should get my odds and ends updated.

Our chubby five month old is doing so well. He started eating rice cereal and doesn't quite know what to think about it. I think I'll add some veggies next week...maybe it will be more exciting. He's getting closer to sitting up for a bit on his own. I'm trying so hard to keep him healthy...especially until he can get a flu shot. He's now wearing all of Peyt's 6-12 month clothes!

This picture makes me realize Peyt is such a big kid now! He is MR. Independent and we have our little power struggles each day. He teaches me that I need to have so much patience...and I don't have nearly as much as I should. He is a sweetheart most of the time and says so many funny things to make us laugh. He's very interested in many things around him and is starting to want an explanation for almost everything! Love you so much Peyt. Sweet moment this week: he sang "If You Chance to Meet a Frown" from start to finish...I've never taught him this. Thanks nursery (or maybe my Mom!) He also asks me to sing him the temple song before bed every night (I Love to See the Temple). He's now caught onto it and can sing the whole first verse with me...such a sweet end to the day!

Congrats to McKay on shooting a buck! Thanks to Davy and Matt for helping him spot it! He was in a hurry to get the meat out so we didn't get too many great shots of it...nonetheless I was excited he got it the first weekend so I had my husband home the second weekend!

Grammy with her grandkids. Grandpa Shoell ordered the flowers they are sitting by for her...for the last year :( She has some pretty cute grandkids! (although we're missing one...baby Lucy!)

Peyt cruises on this four-wheeler at full speed. He's in heaven when he gets to ride it. I must say I'm impressed at his driving skills for a 2-year old!

Here Peyt and Chayce are meeting baby Lucy for the first time. I've had a cough/cold for the past two weeks pretty much so I still haven't held her since we made a quick visit in the hospital. I hope it subsides soon so I can cuddle this little sweetie!

Last but not least, GO YANKEES! We are sad the series is 1-1 going to Philadelphia, but we'll take it however we can! We've had fun going to my parents to cheer them on!

Hope you all have a fabulous Halloween!

Thanks Mom!

I just wanted to post quickly and thank my wonderful Mother for making my life and the life of my children so great. She always plans fun things to do with Peyton and loves to go on adventures with him. This week we went to a cute pumpkin patch at the Vineyard Nursery...and sadly I didn't have my camera. We love you Mom and Grandma! Thanks for all you do.

Baby Luke

Congrats to Sarah and their new sweetheart Luke. He's their third boy (she has twins who turn three tomorrow!) I was commenting to these girls how many pictures we have like this with all of us taking a turn in the hospital bed. I should post the first one we have when Steph had Hallie...six years ago! Thanks for letting us come to see you today...he's precious!

Vegas Baby

A husband-wife only weekend was long overdue for McKay and I and we couldn't THANK our Moms enough for taking our sweet boys so we could go ALONE! What a special time to be with my husband. No carting kids in and out of the car, going to bed and waking up at our leisure, eating at restaurants with two people...it was great (although I missed the boys like CRAZY and couldn't wait to see them!)

Our first stop was in St. George for McKay to golf Sand Hollow Resort. He loved it (although it was VERY windy!) I read about 200 pages of my book (The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society...good book!) while he golfed. It was a great trade-off! I'm perfectly content to ride in the cart and not play...although I don't mind hitting nine every once in awhile! We ate at Cafe Rio (our favorite) in St. George with all the marathon runners...can't wait for it next year (as long as I get in!)

Then it was on to Vegas. We stayed at South Pointe Hotel. Can't beat $50 a night and free parking. Would recommend it to people. Not the fanciest place in Vegas, but it's clean and serves its purpose as a good place to sleep!

I didn't want to spend too much money on food, but we did eat at a few good places. Bellagio Buffet for lunch (YUM!), Maggianos (good Italian in Fashion Show mall) and this wonderful spot...

That's right folks. Serendipity 3 is now serving in VEGAS. Can't beat their frozen hot chocolate...although Melis informed me I missed the peanut butter version. Next time! I love good food (and desserts) and we had some yummy things while we were there!

McKay HATES to take pictures of ourselves like this, but I think this one turned out pretty cute. The Venetian's lobby looked awesome. So was the Bellagio gardens as always. The Vegas hotels sure are amazing!

One of the highlights of our trip was Phantom! It was AMAZING! I loved it. McKay is not a musical/broadway fan so I appreciate his sacrifice to go see it.

We had a great day of shopping one day also (too bad I didn't get a picture!) I loved the Vegas outlets right off of Charleston. Bought myself a few cute things and of course the boys some things (love H&M's kids clothes!) I almost bit the bullet and bought a pair of True Religion jeans. I LOVE them, but I couldn't end up spending more than half of my spending money for them. Maybe next time (when the baby pounds are ALL gone!)

And last but not least...my FAVORITE thing in Vegas...the Bellagio water show. McKay let us sit and watch it three times the night we left. I could watch it for two hours straight and love every time. My parents have stayed there in a room overlooking the show and I want to do this sometime for sure. The best part about it is its FREE!

Thanks for a great time Babe. Let's make these trips a more often occurance!

Lucy...

Beautiful little Lucy is here. We are so happy for Kimball and Melissa. Congrats!

She was just a tiny bit bigger than Chayce when he was born...my how it changes so quickly. This poor girl is sick with the flu now (Melis). I'm sick FOR her and hope for a speedy recovery! We love you all!
