Sickness...

...should not be allowed on your birthday! Poor Peyton was trying his best to have a good day but just in time for the party he started winding down. Presents and cake were more for Mom than Peyton...I saved his cake and sure hope in a couple of days we can try again for a great Kodak moment! Needless to say it was still a wonderful day and evening and we so appreciate everyone who was so generous in gifts and spent their evening at our house. I think all in all it turned out to be a successful first birthday party!

Happy Peyt earlier in the day

I bought this shirt forever ago at Babies R Us in anticipation of his big day

Family photo...this is funny because I took pics of him with everyone who came to the party. The one of our family was the only one he's actually smiling!

Not so happy by cake time...BUMMER!

Here's his cake...nothing fancy, but we love sports so it did the job!

I tried to get him to dig into it at least a little, but this is about all we got!

Can you say SPOILED! I actually took these this morning when he was happier. Thank you to everyone who gave him such cute toys! We thought he needed a little chic magnet this summer so this is his new ride!

Happy 1st Birthday Peyt!

What an amazing year it's been to have this wonderful sweetie in our home. He has brought us so much happiness and I am so lucky to have such a good little boy. He's my little buddy...and I couldn't ask for a better one! Thanks to everyone who has helped us raise him this first year. It's amazing how a child can receive so much love by so many people. I know he loves all of you...you can tell when he sees familiar faces that he loves you through his smile :) We're getting ready for the big family party in a few hours...as I've said before, can't wait to give him his cake! I'm sure we'll take a million pictures tonight and I'll have things to post for tomorrow...until then...happy birthday Peyton. We love you THROUGH and THROUGH!

The best moments...

I'm trapping Peyton in his pack and play while I write this so I need to be quick...but I had to post a cute story that happened two nights ago. I was making dinner and Peyton was at my feet opening all the cupboards and pulling everything out (his new favorite thing to do :) I saw that he had found the chocolate kisses from Easter and had found a way to unwrap them. He managed to get two open and had just dropped the chocolate on the floor...and I said to myself "if he only knew"! So I figured he didn't know what it was and didn't worry about it. I look down a few seconds later and he had chocolate drool coming out of his mouth! He had shoved the whole kiss in his mouth and was loving every second of it. It made my day...what a sweet little boy who gets smarter all the time! My parents always say he's an inquisitive kid because he has to figure out how everything works...hopefully this is a good sign!

I'm thrilled to be celebrating his birthday tomorrow. I will post pictures of everything!

Happy Easter

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend and had time to reflect on the Savior and his amazing sacrifice for us. It was great to spend time with family and let Peyton experience his first Easter Egg hunt (it was more like present hunt though...thanks to his Grandparents!) He got lots of fun Easter toys and we got yummy Easter candy (my favorite!) Here are some pictures from the weekend...my niece Alaynah is so cute with Peyt...they just sit and stare at each other and were both laughing and having a great time!

The Ercanbracks...

...gone urban. I decided we would do something new for Peyton's 1 year pictures. My cute friend Becky Kimball, who I met while working at Nu Skin, took them for us and I think she did a fabulous job! I've always wanted a family photo shoot with this type of feel and I really like how they turned out! When we showed up at the warehouse I think McKay was a bit skeptical, but he was a good sport and I think he likes the end result. And yes these really were taken for Peyton's 1 year pictures! Isn't it crazy! We're having the 1 year party next Friday so I'll have many pictures to post in the coming days. Anyway, here are some of my favs from the shoot...

Welcome Home Angel

McKay's little sister got home on Sunday from her 7 month dance job on a cruise! It was so fun to see her again last night and reintroduce Peyton to her. He was only 4 months old when she left! She is so cute and we're glad to have her back. I should have taken a picture of her new bedroom too! Wayne and Pam redid everything in her room in her favorite colors...brown and turquoise. It is so stinkin cute. She loved it too so I know it was a great surprise for her. We love you Ange!

Also have to give a shout-out to the BYU basketball team for making the tournament (as we knew they would!) If we have to play those obnoxious Rebels one more time in the MWC championship in Vegas I'm going to be very bothered. I wrote the conference an email yesterday letting them know my opinion on a few things regarding the game...hopefully my little voice will be heard!

Picture from Friday

Kallee sent me this picture from Friday...don't mind that I'm standing at some weird angle, but Kallee and Lisa look so cute huh! I'm looking forward to my fun day and I forgot to mention if anyone wants a girl's morning, this show has a studio audience so you can come sit in on April 7th. It's going to be fun because Lisa is on Thursday, April 3rd and Kallee on Tuesday, April 8th...all of us right in a row! Should be fun!

Good Things Utah

So here's some exciting news (for me...) I get to be on Good Things Utah! Lisa and I sent in a tape a few weeks ago auditioning to be a guest host for a day. The producer liked all the submissions and is letting everyone who sent in a tape be on the show! So Lisa, Kallee (my new friend introduced to me by Lisa) and I went up to the set today to watch the show and get a few instructions. It was so much fun. The girls on the show are all so nice and I'm excited to be on with them (and of course a little nervous!) So I will be on Monday, April 7th (10 a.m., channel 4) for anyone who might want to watch it. For my grandparents out of town I will try and get a copy and send it to you! It will be something fun to say I have done (especially in those get to know you questionnaires where you have to say something unique about yourself :) Thank you Steph for watching Peyton for me while I was up there today. You are the greatest!

Happy Birthday Dad

What a great day celebrating my dad's life! He's such a wonderful person and has so many awesome qualities. Growing up my dad and I had a great relationship, but sometimes I was a teenager that liked to talk back and act like family wasn't too important (aren't we all ashamed of that now!) Even when I was a little sass, my dad would always make sure we never went to bed angry at each other. Often times he would leave notes on my bed just to tell me he loved me. He also often bought me fun little gifts growing up like CD's, movies, little figurines etc. just because. He is such a wonderful example for our whole family and we love him very much. He also loves his grandson with all his heart which we appreciate. We hope you had a great day dad and know this will be a great year for you! Thanks for the yummy dinner at Mimi's Cafe tonight and for your favorite birthday cake...Spice!

Watching my niece...

Peyton and I got to play with his cousin Alaynah today. I know it's not physically possible to have babies six months apart, but it would be quite the adventure everyday if you did. Overall it went pretty well, but I don't think I would get out much if they were both mine! Peyton loved to have a playmate but wanted to grab her face and hair most of the time they were around each other...yikes! Luckily I kept the attacker away and she didn't leave with any scratches! Thanks for letting her come play today Ash! As they get older I think they will be good buds!

Also thank you to the young women in my old ward for coming to see me last night! I will miss you all but I know you will all do great things in life and be successful! My house is always welcome to you and you can stop by anytime! Thanks Laura for the cute house plant. She gave me my first one so hopefully I can keep it alive!

My great weekend

I had a blast in Vegas. I spent all my budget (and a little extra!) and had so much fun. We shopped NON-STOP for two days. We were all exhausted by Saturday night, but it was well worth it. Plus I got to eat at one of my favorites, The Cheesecake Factory, which is always good. Thank you so much Sarah for letting us stay with you and your cute family. I forgot to take a picture of the boys while we were there! They are so cute! I'm excited to be able to wear some new things! It's always a fun time for new clothes. I have such fun friends and it was great to spend some time with you!

VEGAS!

I'm so excited...I get to go down to Vegas with Steph and Jess to go visit Sarah! I am in desperate need of a new Spring/Summer wardrobe as I bypassed it last year due to having a baby! I've been saving my dollars so I can have some fun and I'm really excited...when you go to the outlets and H&M you always get more stuff for your money! Yeah! We're excited to see you Sarah! I'll post pics when we get back! Also, good luck to my sweet husband who is taking on Peyt alone for the first time (I'm going to miss them both so much!) He'll do great. Also thanks to my Mom and sis for taking Peyton during the day!
