A House Behind the TREES

My poor husband lost his beloved trees last night. I've been thinking they cover too much of the house up (and were planted too close to the house). Last night Davy convinced him they needed to come down...and in a matter of five minutes they were gone. I was worried they would trample my petunias but it worked out just fine. Now you can see my house! And Lisa had a great idea to buy two black rocking chairs and a little table to go on the porch! Now we can plant a few trees on the strip in the front of our house...where trees grow better :)

We also had my grandparents come visit this week. It's always fun when they come to town to visit. They were here for my cousin Ryan's high school graduation...congrats Ryan!

I also want to send my love to my Grandpa Neiger. He's been struggling with some major health issues lately and is in the hospital. We want him to know how much we love him and our Grandma and we think about you often. We wish we were closer so we could be there for you. We love you guys!

Memorial Day Weekend

It's very rare that McKay gets a three day weekend at work, but he did (well, had to take Saturday off...but still :) Our friends the Christophersons and Conklins are part owners of a BEAUTIFUL cabin near Jackson Hole and they invited us up for the weekend. It was SO NICE to just relax, enjoy how beautiful it was up there (it rained the whole time!), eat good food and hang out. Thanks again for inviting us up guys! We had a lot of fun!

This cabin was awesome. Probably one of the nicest accommodations McKay and I have ever stayed at!

This is Raelene, Brooke at I. We spent most of the time talking, watching 27 Dresses (spread out over the three days we were there!), making meals and snacks and relaxing!

All of us have little boys...Peyt's the oldest, Cohen (Christopherson's) is next (4 months behind Peyt), and Chase (Conklins) is the youngest (8 months behind Peyt).

Peyt is funny because he would stare at the boys for a minute and then want to climb all over them and their toys.

McKay and I were introduced to Rock Band this weekend. Didn't realize how addicting it can be! I caught on OK, but will need practice to be any good. My favorite song to play was Wanted Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi! (I missed Jason in the guy's band for some reason...sorry Jason!)

Peyt got attached to Cohen's little red car...I felt bad because one of the wheels broke off from him "loving" it too much. Thanks for sharing Cohen! You can't really see it, but I loved the flooring in the cabin/house. It looked like a dark wood but my friends say it's probably laminate pieces...awesome concept: the look of real wood without the upkeep! Want it in my next house!

Hope all of you had an awesome weekend too!

Way to go David Archuleta!

OK so I know he didn't win tonight, but I'm so proud of our little Utah boy for getting that far. I'm a fan and will buy his CD for sure. Both Davids were really good this season and I had fun watching! My sis Chels and I decided to go to the American Idol concert this year in July! Never have done that before, but thought it would be fun because I liked so many of the top ten this year. Should be fun. I'm actually really excited to see Brooke White in concert. Love her!

I'm also EXCITED that my favorite show starts tomorrow...So You Think You Can Dance! Yeah!

Also a very big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my awesome brother in law Dan. He's married to McKay's sister Wendi and we love him so much. He is one of the most genuinely kind people we know. He will engage in a conversation all about you forever and be interested the whole time. He's a great dentist also in Springville if you are looking for one! Hope you had a great day and we'll be celebrating soon!

Chocolate Strawberries

So I almost always have my camera and last night at my parents I didn't...and would have missed a Kodak moment if not for Chelsea's phone (thanks Chels). I must say this was better than birthday cake. My dad thought it would be funny to see what Peyton would do with a chocolate covered strawberry (two of his favorite things). My dad smeared a little bit of the chocolate onto his face and lips and set it down. Peyton grabbed it and SHOVED it into his mouth. He was taking huge bites at a time and loving every minute of it. As you can see he was covered. Everyone was laughing SO hard. Well worth the mess. My dad thought it was so great he gave him another one! Luckily Peyton didn't seem to have any ill side effects. Thanks for a fun moment dad!

Proud to be a Jazz Fan

So the Jazz didn't win the series...but it doesn't take away the fact that the Jazz had an awesome year. We've had so much fun watching them this season and as long as they can keep the key players here, we should have many more great seasons ahead. Derron Williams better be getting a nice big incentive to stay here for a long time :) Now as long as the Celtics can win it all, we'll be happy at our house. Too bad the two teams we dislike the most in the NBA could be in the finals...go HORNETS!

We are SO enjoying the warm weather here. Peyt and I had a great time playing outside with many more days like that next week! McKay and I are off to a financial seminar today so I'll let you know how it goes!

Happy Birthday Mom!

I hope my Mom has a wonderful day today. She is the greatest. Can't say enough good about her. I always thought she was spoiled growing up because she got gifts two days in one week...now looking back she deserved so many more "Mom" days. Here are a few things my Mom did for me so many times growing up:

*Stayed up past 1 a.m. to finish school projects
*Woke up in the middle of the night to help me when I was sick (and was NOT ONCE bugged about it)
*Drove me everywhere
*Brought me homework, lunch etc. to school when I'd forget (and it was alot!)
*Took me to the park all the time
*Threw me very fun birthday parties I'll never forget
*Read to me pretty much everyday - passed the love of reading on to me!
*Let me participate in lots of activities
*Planned great family vacations and always had little presents and surprises to open on the long drives
*Made (and makes) the yummiest dinners and desserts
*Is always willing to listen and talk about anything
*Love my Dad so much and always respected him and what he did for our family
*Serves everyone...and loves everyone

Your appreciation for parents grows so much when you have your own kids...you realize how much they did for you and how much you OWE them! Love you Mom!

Walking!

That's right...Peyt is finally getting the hang of it! Still not quite stable on his feet, but he's getting better. Chels watched him for me tonight and said he walked through our kitchen and into the family room pretty well. I'm so excited for this! No more worn out jeans or scraped knees (well, hopefully not!) Now we just need to get the stairs down :)

This weekend...

So here are pictures from the weekend...lots of them. Enjoy!

Mr. Golfer. He'd be out everyday if he could. He hit great drives but was frustrated with his putting on Saturday. It was the NICEST day for golf. Park City Golf Course is a fun course too because a small river runs through it and it's really green! It was nice to be outside!

Taking a shot at the ball. I'm still VERY novice, but I try. McKay says if I'd only concentrate and "care" more I'd be much better. I must say I did have a good golf day on Saturday. I usually play about 10 over golf and this time it was only like 3 or 4 over...not so bad :)

Mother's Day was great at the Ercanbracks. Pam bought this four wheeler when Tyke was younger and now he can pull Peyton around in the trailer part! He thought it was pretty fun!

Alaynah had a turn in the back too!

Hanging out with Dad

This is my cute nephew Tyler. He was the only grandchild for quite awhile and now he has two cousins. He's a sweet boy and we love him!

Baby Alaynah. She is six months younger than Peyt...I've posted pics of her before. She has tons of hair and Ash did it all cute yesterday.

My hand was on it's way up in this picture to take Peyton's hand away from pulling my hair!

Because this post will be on the longer side, I'll wait until tomorrow to post the video of Peyton WALKING! He's getting so close...we just keep working with him and I know one day he'll just get it!

It was fun to see my girlfriends today! Thanks for letting us come over Steph. Christian is a beautiful baby! Travel home safe Sarah!

Happy Mother's Day...

I can't believe I'm celebrating my second Mother's Day! It's crazy! I've enjoyed every day of being a mother so far and love my sweet little Peyton so much. He's the second best thing that's happened to me (next to McKay :) Love you Peyt!

Pam is such a great woman. McKay was lucky to be raised by her and to have her as a Mother. Peyt loves her too and got to spend some time with her this weekend while we went to Park City (thanks!) She is so selfless and will do and give anything to her children and grandchildren. We love you Pam!

Love my Mom...isn't she cute! Thanks also to her for taking Peyt this weekend...we had a great anniversary getaway. This woman is amazing...she is an extremely service oriented person who loves everyone and puts everyone ahead of herself. She would gladly watch Peyton over doing ANYTHING in this world which says something about what a great grandmother she is. Love you Mom!

Happy Grandmother's Day to Grandma Neiger in California, Grandma Johnson in Washington and Grandma Shoell in Pleasant Grove. You are all amazing women whom we love SO much and hope you are all doing well. We are lucky to have you in our lives!

Also a very Happy Mother's Day (and mother's day to be) to all of you that I love so much. I'm sure if you're reading this you've impacted my life in some way by the great example you've been to me...which has helped shape me into the kind of Mom I am today. I hope you've enjoyed this day as much as I have.

Pictures will be coming tomorrow of our little getaway and some of Peyton and his cousins from today. McKay and I are anxious to continue season 4 of LOST on the computer :)

Today is our 5th Anniversary. Where did it go? Life has treated the Ercanbrack family SO well. McKay and I are so blessed to have a wonderful marriage and friendship. Couldn't imagine life without him...I can't even remember what my life was really like without him anymore! Here are a few pictures of our amazing day...if you can believe it, none of our pictures are saved digitally...our wedding was the very last one Dan Hixon did with film. It's crazy that the digital camera craze hasn't been around longer! I guess it makes me look old :)

If I were to do it over again, there are a few things I would do differently, but it's only because wedding trends only get better and better...you see things and only wish it was there when you got married (I would have worn an ivory dress with a sash probably...love it...my sister in law's dress was my favorite wedding dress I've ever seen...good taste Meliss!) And I would have done my hair more "fancy". McKay was cute and just wanted me to look like "me" on our wedding day, but I think I could have pulled off a fancier "me" look. Oh well. Still loved every minute of that day and always will.

Here we are closer to our current looks...we look older huh! In fact a few of my friends have been to my house lately and have commented on how young we looked when we got married...I guess five years does that to you. And I now have blonde hair! Some of my newer friends never knew I had red hair probably!

McKay...you are my best friend and I love you too much to describe. You are the most unselfish, kind and loving person I know. Thanks for the past five + years. You are an incredible person. Can't wait to grow old with you :)
