He's TWO

What a fun day...I LOVE Birthdays. I really think it's my favorite holiday of the year because it's all about celebrating the people you love. This morning when Peyton woke up it was such an eye opener to think two years ago from this morning I was laying in labor waiting for him to arrive...and BAM two years have gone by. My emotions are so overwhelming for this child...any mother or person who has truly loved a child can relate. I really don't think words adequately express how you feel about your children. I really try to not brag him up too much on this blog (and please forgive me if I ever have!) but I love this little man to pieces.

When Peyton reads through my entries someday, I hope he reads this one and realizes how grateful and blessed I am to be his mother. You never appreciate or relate to your parents until you are one yourself...and it may take until then or beyond that for him to understand the love I have for him (and his soon to be little brother). I feel so priviledged to be a mother and to have him in our home.

Onto the GREAT day we had (with many pictures!)

How LUCKY to have McKay home to celebrate with us today. A full Saturday without interuptions doesn't happen too often at our house...it was HEAVEN!

He got to open one present this morning...the Toy Store figurines...loves them!

We were going to try to go to the zoo today, but McKay ended up having a basketball game in the morning so we didn't make it. Instead...we cut him loose at Toys R Us...pure bliss! He had fun sitting in this thing...

...and this! I would LOVE to get him and little brother this for Christmas...I'll start saving now! It's so dang cute...room for two, double doors that open.

When we got to the Cars aisle it was total chaos. We told him he could pick out a few toys for his bday...and he would have walked out with the whole dang aisle! We got him to "settle" for this awesome "New Mater" truck...and four other cars. He loves it (although I didn't realize it makes a few lovely sounds...oh well!)

We had to have "chicken and sauce" for lunch so we made a stop at Chik-fi-la for lunch...with Mater. We also made a stop into the Disney Store for a few more cars...Daddy is such a sucker for this kid! He already had plenty of gifts at home! (I must admit I am too...I could buy SO much more for him if that's even possible!)

We made it home before Peyton had a complete meltdown and we put him down for a nap. Lisa came over and helped me with his bday cake. Turned out SO cute and I think so much more delicious than store bought. She taught me how to do buttercream frosting. I feel like I can make cakes OK now. Thanks so much Lisa!

Onto the party. We had wonderful family come over for a great evening. I feel so bad because everyone left and I didn't get ANY pictures of all the guests. By about mid-way through the party I started to feel REALLY tired though so I think I was just ready to chill out. We LOVE everyone who came and thank you all so much for making an effort to be there. Peyton is so incredibly loved and we are so grateful for all of you. My Grandparents, Aunt Melinda and two cousins Sarah and Amy had just arrived in town from Washington today so they stopped in too. It was good to see them! Peyton was so excited to sit in his chair from Aunt Chels.

This was taken after all the presents were opened...it wore him out I guess! He's going to love watching movies in this thing!

One of his bigger presents from Mom and Dad...a lawn mower!

Our little family. How I love these two boys! McKay did such a great job by the way with the bbq. He's such a great husband and daddy. Thanks babe for everything today!
Blowing out the candles and picking off the cars. I think he liked the cake too!
You don't have to say anything...I know. The really bad part is I'm still going to get him a sandbox for the backyard with bday money. My consolation is that I really don't buy him much throughout the year and let him play with all the toys from bday and Christmas. And we have very generous family members.
Whew...OK I got it all down. Funny that it's 11 and we just got Peyton down. I believe birthdays should be celebrated to the last minute...plus we had to watch the Jazz win in overtime first! (Peyton shares his bday with Jerry Sloan!)
Happy Birthday buddy. We love you FOREVER!
One more thing...I make these fun bday videos of a recap of my children's life over the past year to music they've loved or that reminds me of them. I'm going to start a little business making them for people. In the next few weeks I'm going to try and get a blog set-up for it. They turn out really cute and are the best keepsakes for your kids. Stay tuned...
If you reached the end of this post...you must really love us...and Peyton!

KSL Classifieds Works!

I was able to find and purchase the airplane picture thanks to a nice lady who responded to my KSL post! She told me she had seen it last weekend in a back room at Osmond Design...so close to me! I popped in there this morning and low and behold...it was sitting in a back room! It was meant to be :) And it was only $80...much less than the $150 I was going to pay online! Yipee! It made my day! Now Peyt's room is pretty much done!

We had his two year appointment today. Pretty much average for head size and weight (26 pounds). He's 76th percentile for height though (35 inches)...growing and doing well! We love Dr. Wynn and are grateful to be able to go to him! Pretty soon I'll be back to every few month visits for awhile! I can't say how blessed I feel that I have a healthy and happy little boy. So many people deal with all kinds of health issues and so far (cross our fingers) we've been so lucky.

McKay is now saying he likes the name Canyon...let me know your opinion...Chase or Canyon? I'm not going to say either way what I think...tell me what you do though!

ALSO...good news in the Ercanbrack family...my cute sister in law Melissa is pregnant! She is due in October with another cousin! I'm so excited that our little boy will have a cousin close to his age! We love you Kimball and Melissa and you are going to be wonderful parents!

Looking for THIS

This cute airplane wall art has been on sale a few different times at Taipan and I've missed it! I found it online and it sold out before I could buy it...if you see this anywhere or know if you've seen it, let me know. There is a perfect spot for it on Peyton's wall in his room and I'd love to get it!

Peyton is Almost 2!

Yeah for two year olds! I'm so excited for Peyton's bday this weekend! He is such a sweetheart and we love him so much. We've been talking this baby up so much I don't know if he really believes there is a "baby brother". He says and does so many fun things and makes my day EVERY DAY! I feel SO lucky that I get to spend the majority of my days with him. This past week was a blast being able to spend every day outside. I am really looking forward to the Spring/Summer and a fenced backyard!

Taken on St. Patrick's Day...Peyton has this THING with wanting to look at all the pictures on the camera and WILL NOT let me take his picture because he wants to look.

This is definitely Peyton's "cry" smile. What a little stink! I hope when we get his two year pics with the baby he will be OK. It's one thing when it's free and totally different when you pay good money for pictures!

Yeah that I'm in my last trimester! Ten weeks and counting! I feel so lucky that aside from being sick, everything has gone well and the baby is doing great. As of now his name is still Chase, but it's still up for discussion for sure...I want McKay to have his say too :) We have good friends with a little boy named Chase and a few cuties in our ward too...hope it's all good! Brooke has told me she is just fine with us using it...thanks Conklins! I've loved that name for a long time and it just wasn't for Peyton...so hope it fits this little guy!

This is also just for my own little record keeping...I wanted to jot down books I've read in the last while so I remember what they are! If you are a reader maybe it might be good so you can get new reading material...and please comment on good books you've loved. I've loved everything I've read (most have been recommendations from Lisa):

*The Great and Terrible Series by Chris Stewart (almost finished now...so intense and could come true...helps you prepare for what MAY lie ahead)
*Children of the Promise Series by Dean Hughes
*Hearts of the Children Series by Dean Hughes
*Twilight, Full Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer
*The Choice, Dear John, At First Sight and True Believer by Nicholas Sparks (always love him!)
*The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards
*Work and the Glory Series by Gerald Lund
*For One More Day by Mitch Albom
*I Am a Mother by Jane Clayson Johnson

Like I said...I'm always in search of great books. Anytime you read something you like, let me know!

Fun Afternoon!

Lisa planned a fun afternoon today to get out and visit Good Things Utah! It was fun to go back and visit and see the ladies again. They are all really nice and you usually end up taking a few free things home! I almost won a vinyl-cutting machine but the producer looked the wrong way to pick the winner!
We all wore Navy today! Lisa, Me and Kallee
I've been meaning to take a profile pregnancy shot and just haven't...so here you go. Now that I took one I'm regretting it! It's hard to see yourself expanding like this :) Almost 29 weeks and counting...
After the show we stopped at the Cheesecake Factory for lunch. One of my favorites! Thanks SO much to my awesome sister Chelsea for coming over and watching Peyton. She's always so willing to help with him and I appreciate it so much!
I'm so excited the weather is looking good for this week! I LOVE the spring and summer and can't get enough of it!

Photography Session Giveaway - Lizzy Photography

I saw this on Steph's blog and thought I'd join in. She took Steph's family pictures a little while back and they are so cute! It never hurts to try on these things :) If you'd like to also, go to her blog and enter!
I know I'm such a weird girl...but I'm excited for March Madness! McKay and I fill out brackets and make it a little competition...is BYU going to win a game this year?

Martha Moment

We had a shower for my friend Steph Fugal yesterday at my house (having her first boy...and it's been four years since they've had a baby). I think it turned out really great and I'm glad so many people were able to come! It's so silly because when it comes to anything involving Peyton I take tons of pictures...but if it's something for me I don't manage to get any! I'm sad I don't have any from yesterday...I may have to steal a few from Steph's camera.

I decided to make these cute mini cupcakes on sticks that my friend Adrienne made awhile back for us as a thank you treat for her baby gifts...she helped me get all the supplies at Roberts and showed me how to make them (Thanks Adrienne...you are awesome)! They weren't too difficult but do take some time. I must say I was proud of my Martha Stewart attempt. I think I've said on my blog that I'm not much into scrapbooking and card making anymore. I don't know if I just lost the flavor for it or don't want to find the time. So I have to find little creative projects for myself to keep that part of my life up...

I was happy with how they turned out and may attempt them again in the future!
I hope all of you have a wonderful Sunday! Peyton's furniture comes TOMORROW! Yeah! I'll hopefully have most of it put together this week and I'll post pictures!

A favorite Idol moment...

I think tonight was one of my favorite moments on American Idol...when they told Anoop they were making it a Top 13! How awesome for him! I am a big Matt fan so I was so happy he made it through, but Anoop is really good too! I watched the big reveal a few times :)

I must say I felt they were trying to even the girls out a little bit. Even though one of them is from Utah, she just isn't my favorite for some reason. And thank heavens Tatiana isn't in the Top 12. Just couldn't handle it.

There's my American Idol soapbox. I will go back to blogging about my life and what's up with us next.

Oh yeah...GO COUGARS! I'm thinking they'll win on Sat. and will take a share of the bball championship. Now if it wasn't for the very unfair tournament being in Vegas, we'd have a pretty great shot at a good seed in March Madness...how I hate the Runnin Rebels and the home court garbage...what are they going to be like the fifth seed...and have home court advantage!

Two Cents on Reality

Bachelor - Wow...what a finish! Whether it was set-up or not (which I don't really believe)...I feel bad for Melissa. She seems like a nice girl. I guess Jason has to "follow his heart" right! We'll see how long he and Molly last! I actually liked both of the girls so I didn't really care...not that I ever should anyway :)

American Idol - Thank you judges for bringing Matt Giraurd back...he's awesome and just picked the wrong solo song last week...although you gotta love Coldplay. But WHAT THE HECK WITH TATIANA. If anyone votes for her tomorrow night...I swear...how annoying.

While I'm not so proud of this part of my life, I figured I better document it since I look forward to watching these shows (sadly!)

Today I spent the majority of Peyton's bday money on decorations for his new room! It was fun to go decoration shopping again as I haven't done this really in awhile (one of my favorite things to do). His new furniture should be coming in the next few weeks...I can't believe he's going to sleep in a twin bed (well, let's hope he will!) I feel a lot of eventful changes coming on in his little life in the next few months...

GO COUGARS

Sweet victory. I'm sorry to all my Ute friends, but it is so nice to beat you. I get really irritated when BYU loses to Utah, and unfortunately it's happened two too many times this year! We had a great time at the game yesterday...the crowd was awesome and the team played great. Thanks Wayne for letting us tag along with you this season. It's been a good one! Now if Utah can just lose to New Mexico next week...

I'm so excited that I'm only three months away from having this baby! I feel like this pregnancy has been a long road that isn't going to end and now I'm starting to feel it might! I've been meaning to take a picture of my pregnant self and just haven't yet. Maybe sometime today and I'll post it later...
