CUTE SWIM SUITS!

I LOVE the new Modbe swimming suits. I think they are so flattering and look good on everyone! I'm not a big fan of shopping for suits because I never find anything I really like...and I really could buy at least five of these and love them all! If you visit my friend Sarah's blog you probably already saw this picture (I stole it from her!)

I've never been successful with parties at my house for some reason so I don't do them anymore. I really don't like to do them much either because I don't want people to feel like they HAVE to buy stuff if they don't want to. However...I wanted you all to see these suits because they are so cute. So I thought I'd do a poll...if you would be interested in coming to my house to try these suits on, let me know by leaving a comment. Sarah's sister is a consultant and would do one for me if I found enough interest. Just FYI most of the tops are $48 and the bottoms about $26...really a typical price for a nicer swimming suit (ignoring the lucky find at Target for $30!) So if you have interest let me know and maybe I'll host a party in March...if not, no biggie either!

Hope you're all doing well and we are moving into our house this week! I PROMISE pictures will come sooner than later!

Two Bits of WONDERFUL News

#1 - As expected, we have our new prophet! I am thrilled to have President Monson as our next prophet of the church. He will do such a wonderful job. I watched a documentary on him tonight and they brought up such a good point: President Monson has dedicated his life to serving...especially the elderly and the children. He is such a sweet man who will offer so much to the church. I think one remarkable story of him is when he was a young bishop and he was to care for 80 + widows as part of his ward boundaries...and he made sure to visit each and every one at Christmastime each year until the last one passed away (I think I'm telling the story right!) What a great example of service to all of us...I think that will be one of his legacies as a prophet!

#2 - I DON'T HAVE TO GO TO COURT! WAHOO! I know you've all heard the saga about this already (and I do apologize for telling this story to so many of you so many times...and complaining so much about it!) They settled the issue last weekend so I don't have to go sit in front of a jury pleading my innocence! This is one part of my life I am very happy to forget! And I don't have to hate the lady who was suing me anymore...I don't like negativity in my life and now it can be gone!

It's official...

...we're moving! We closed yesterday on the new house in Lehi. It's a cute house with black distressed shutters so I'm really excited! I still haven't taken any pictures but they'll be coming soon! We should be closing on our current house towards the end of this month! Yeah! The next chapter in our lives! It's bittersweet though to leave the first home you owned (especially with the cute nursery McKay did for Peyton!) We've had some good memories here over the past 2 1/2 years. I know this next home will treat us just as well.

After the dust settles and we are put together, I would love you to come visit me!

Goodbye to a wonderful prophet

Sadly, our beloved prophet, President Hinckley, died today. My sister called us as we were driving home from my parents house to tell us. I love him so much and feel blessed to have gone through my teenage years while he was the prophet. He provided so much insight to the youth and always knew what to tell us to become better.

My greatest memory I will keep of him was the time we shared with him in the celestial room of the Bountiful temple. We were able to attend one of the dedicatory sessions of the temple and President Hinckley (then a counselor in the first presidency) presided and spoke at the session. I was only 11 or 12 at the time, but I remember feeling such a spirit with him in the room. He brought it with him wherever he was.

I know all of you loved him and will miss him too. We are so lucky that our leaders are chosen by the spirit and we know the church will move forward through the Lord's direction.

President Hinckley will be missed! We are grateful for the wonderful man that he was! Bless him and his sweet wife that they are now united again for eternity!

Our crawling man

Here's the video I promised of Peyton crawling. Please excuse the ridiculous commentary by me in the video...anything to make them perform right? We are so excited that Peyton has reached this milestone, but he is now all of a sudden much more work. No more sitting around playing toys and minding his own business! Church has become a nightmare! Needless to say, we love him so much and our proud of him...next up: walking!

I know I've kind of kept this in the bag for some time, but it's finally here so I thought I might mention something. We bought a house! Yes I know we are slightly insane because we haven't sold our current house yet. However, we did receive an offer yesterday which we accepted. Sounds like a cute young couple and I'm really hoping it works out for them because I love this house! I'll be posting pics of the new house soon! That's what we'll be busy with for the next while!

Brad Paisley!

We had such a great time at the Brad Paisley concert last night! We went with our great friends the McArthurs and it was so nice to be out! His concerts are always so good! He did a whole section where he just played his guitar and sang without his band. It was my favorite. If you are a country fan and haven't been to one of his concerts before, I suggest you go next time he comes. It's worth it!

Also, I thought I would mention that I went to 27 Dresses last weekend with Lisa and a cute new friend named Callie and it was SO good! We both said it's a movie to buy when it comes out! I recommend all my girlfriends go see it. You will LOVE it!

Happy Birthday McKay!

Happy Birthday McKay! January 22nd is a great day in the world! We love McKay as a great husband and dad who does all he can to provide for the family and to serve us! He works SO hard and sometimes we wish he could be home more, but we know he's just doing his job of providing for the family. We're really celebrating on Thursday night because we get to go to the Brad Paisley concert! Yeah! We're excited about that. McKay has accomplished great things in his 28 years of life with many more wonderful times to come! We love you!

Also, I've been slacking on posting pictures of Peyton lately. Here's a few random pictures...and GUESS WHAT! He's officially CRAWLING! We've moved passed the scoot. I'll get it on our camera and post a little video of it!

Still a little sick here...but still smiling!

The flash is starting to get to him more and more now!

Peyton LOVES the bath...and loves to pull the products off of Mom's shelves!

All ready to crawl!

I put this one on here because you can see his two bottom teeth! Two of his top teeth are coming in and he's in a lot of pain. Poor bud!

2008 Election

I'm trying to be an informed, responsible citizen for the next presidential election :) I'm realizing if we want things to be run more efficiently in this country, we have to voice our opinion, even if it's a small one in the large perspective. My dad pointed me to a cool little tool on USA Today's Web site. It lets you take a quiz to answer how you would handle some of today's pressing issues in United States and how you align with the candidates. It was really good for me to go through it and read their different platforms and who I really would vote for based on what I think. I recommend we all do it and have the best info we can as we go to vote! Here's the link:

OK...there you have my soapbox on politics. I'm sure everyone will start in soon enough!

What a week...

So I'm dealing with my first full blown case of dealing with a sick child. Next time, can I just be sick...it would be so much easier. It's so hard to watch my little buddy be so sad and not want to do anything besides lay on my shoulder. Uh...it's the worst! We've dealt with a cough issue for about 3 months now, and he just picked up another bug in the last little bit. I may just decide to hibernate the rest of this winter and not deal with this anymore! I'm sure I have many more fevers, coughs and colds to come though. I guess you just make the best of the situation. I should take a picture of Peyt tomorrow as evidence of his illness. Poor kid has the sick look on his face. I'm sure many of you are dealing with this also right now and my heart goes out to you too. This is not fun!

I'm hoping life gets more exciting this next week. I'll make sure to get some new pictures up too!

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone finished off their holiday season wonderfully with a great New Year's celebration. McKay and I had a nice quiet evening at home watching Ocean's 13. And how pathetic are we...we made it to 11:30 and went to bed! Oh well, there's always next year! We hope 2008 is a wonderful year for everyone and we sure plan on it being a great one for us also!

BTW...Peyton cut tooth number 2 and I think more are coming. He's ALMOST completely crawling also. It's been a long time coming but everyone warns me that life gets crazy when they move around so I guess I'll enjoy the moment!
