Welcome Baby Girl Erk!

We have a new Ercanbrack! Her name might be Oakley, but Ben and Ash are still thinking about it so we'll hear sooner or later what it will be for sure. She was born yesterday around 9 a.m. weighing 7 pounds 9 ounces and was 19 inches long. We got to meet her for the first time today and she is a little princess. I have to admit I'm a little jealous Ash gets to do pink, but I'm sure my turn will come someday (no worries Peyt, I still love you more than anything!) I'm so excited Peyton will have a cousin close to his age. Now there are three cute grandkids for Grandma Pam!

I was released from my calling in the RS Presidency today. They moved me to be the secretary for the Young Women. It should be a fun calling and I'm looking forward to working with the girls (although I think we only have six and only some of those come regularly). Anyway, should be a fun change.

I went to the RS meeting last night which was WONDERFUL. I especially loved the second counselors talk and President Monson (as always).

Six Months Old!

Yesterday was Peyton's six month birthday (I couldn't get the camera to cooperate to get his pictures off yesterday)! I can't believe how fast those six months went. He is such a joy to have in our family and we love him so much. I'm incredibly blessed to be a mother and to be able to raise him. Thank you to all of you who have helped me be a better mom through your examples!

Peyton is doing lots of fun things and we love to watch him grow. He's just about sitting up now without our help (we're still working on the whole balance thing :) and he regularly rolls over. Hopefully sooner than later he will start to want to move himself around, but then again I kind of like him being stationary...it's easier that way!

Here's a few pictures, one from the day he was born and a few from yesterday (I bought the vest before he was born...couldn't resist...if you've seen his closet, you know how much I like to buy him clothes!) Happy 1/2 Birthday Peyton! We love you!

Fall Television

Happy Birthday Grandma Shoell...we love you!

Fall is a favorite time of mine for many reasons: the weather, my birthday, BYU Football - Go Cougars!!!! and yes, of course, the fall television lineup. It's a good thing we have tivo now so I can watch them without commercials (wastes less time so I don't feel as guilty:) I thought I'd share some of my favorite shows and have anyone comment if they like them too! Then throughout the season I can chat with whomever is a fan! Here are my faves...

Oprah
The Bachelor
Dancing with the Stars
The Biggest Loser
The Office
ER

I think my very favorite show is So You Think You Can Dance, but its a summer show so I have to find others the rest of the year :) And really I don't watch every episode of all of these shows...I'm not really a TV junkie especially with a six month old, but when its time to unwind or I just need 20 minutes, these are some of my favorites.

Hit By a Truck

So I never thought I'd really be able to say this, but I was just about hit by a truck today. Peyton and I were coming out of Roberts Craft Store walking in the cross walk. A lady driving a truck wasn't looking and kept driving through the crosswalk where we were. I tried to pull out of the way as quick as I could, but she was going too fast and there wasn't anything I could do. It was a blessing that I was holding Peyton's seat because the truck just knocked the cart pretty hard and we were fine. A few steps further though and it could have been worse. The driver jumped out to make sure we were OK and felt really bad, but it was super scary! I'm so glad we're watched over and it wasn't worse!

Our New Blog!

Now that many of my friends have jumped on the blogging bandwagon (thanks Sarah for your inspiration), I thought I may as well too. We signed up for a baby jelly beans site when Peyton was born, but I don't know if anyone visits it anymore...this might be more convenient for both me and you! Anyway, I'm excited to be able to share a little bit about our lives here and to keep family and friends updated who we don't see very often. Since I'm new to this, our page might look a little funky for a bit, but I know I'll get the hang of it. For our first post, I'll include pictures from my bday (it's the latest thing we've taken pictures of...) which was last week. Thanks to everyone for all the nice things you did for me! I have wonderful friends and family.

Unlike the jellybeans site, I am going to do my VERY BEST to post on this at least every couple of days. Somedays it may be quite short, but I'll sneak what I can in there. Thanks for making your first visit and I hope it will be the first of many to come!

Until tomorrow (hopefully!)
